Through crucifixions, fisting, and forest rituals, a group of queer and trans friends document their radical intimacies, creating a folk-horror love letter to the transformative power of chosen family. Produced over 6 years, Sterile offers a utopian/dystopian vision blending original footage with once banned silent movie Häxan (1922), practical special effects, explicit performance and commentary to present a joyous, affirmative documentary about lost times in nature in a trans- and queerphobic world.
